Background Check & Safe Environment Training
A background check must be cleared through the Diocese of San Bernardino for all parents, guardians, and volunteers working with children. This includes attending, driving and/or chaperoning field trips and sports games, participating in school-wide and class activities, volunteering as a room parent, assisting teachers, and all programs that involve children. If you have not had a background check processed through Screening One, stop by the office for the required form.
In addition to meeting the criteria for background check clearance, parents and all volunteers must complete the Safe Environment for the Protection of Children program. You can complete this program online at www.virtus.org. Once there, click on the right screen that indicates training and follow directions. Once you have completed the training, you must print the certificate and bring it to the school office.
In addition to parents and volunteers completing a Background Check and Safe Environment Training for the Protection of Children, all employees of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School must adhere to the “Employee Code of Conduct”, which is the Diocesan Safe Environment for the Protection of Children and Young People and Code of Pastoral Conduct. Faculty and Staff are to complete a Live Scan background check and be trained in Safe Environment, Protection of Children.
